Some dances gain more popularity than others because they can be performed to different kinds of music and the steps change accordingly. One such dance is the waltz.
There are lots of different kinds of waltzes, all performed to different types of waltz music. The music might be fast or slow but what they all have in common is a regular one-two-three, one-two-three rhythm.
The traditional form is the old-school waltz in which dancers turn all the time with a hopping, springy step. This waltz has a slow, smooth, gliding step. There's also the Mexican waltz, which moves much faster.
Today, ballroom dancing is almost considered a competitive sport; professionals perform different dances, each with strict rules. Everything from where the dancers place their hands to how they move is judged. In the glide waltz, dancers are judged by how smoothly they move. In the old days, if someone said, "I can dance with a glass of water on my head," you knew that person was a fine dancer. In the past, some people learned how to dance by reading manuals, while others studied with a teacher called the "dancing master."

The first step to stop drug abuse(滥用) is to know why people start to use drugs. The reasons people abuse drugs are as different as people are from one to another. But there seems to be one thing in common: people seem to take drugs to change the way they feel. They want to feel better or feel happy or to feel nothing. Sometimes, they want to forget or to remember. People often feel better about themselves when they are under the influence of drugs. But the effects don't last long. Drugs don't solve problems. They just postpone them. After a while, people who miss drugs may feel worse about themselves, and they may use more drugs.
If someone you know is using or abusing drugs, you can help. The most important part you can play is to be there. You can let your friends know that you care. You can listen and try to solve the problem behind your friend's need to use drugs. Studies of heavy abusers in the United States show that they felt unloved and unwanted. They didn't have close friends to talk to. When you or your friends take the time to care for each other, you're all helping to stop drugs abuse. After all, what is a friend for?

The term "paparazzi" comes from a character called Paparazzo in the film, La Dolce Vita, who rode around taking photographs of the rich and the famous. Modern day paparazzi take photographs of famous people, then sell them for a large sum of money to the tabloid (小报) press.
Some people say celebrities are public property, and "that is show business". But celebrities are followed and spied on at their own home. That is not show business; that is criminal.
The paparazzi go out of their way to make people angry so that they can get a better picture. The American actor George Clooney was walking down the street with his girlfriend when a paparazzi shouted, "who is that fat girl?". The picture of Clooney's angry face was all over the newspapers the next day. However, the actor got his revenge (报复) on the paparazzi when one of the photographers was hiding in his garden to get pictures of him and his girlfriend at home — the photographer was chased away by Clooney’s pet Vietnamese pot-bellied pig.
The paparazzi are out of control. Some papers have recognized what is happening and have refused to buy pictures when it is obvious that a person’s privacy has been invaded. This is a good example.
