TRANSCRIPT

This is AP News Minute.

President Joe Biden is touting a new milestone in the country's effort to defeat the coronavirus, the delivery of 200 million vaccinations. The administration is trying to get more people vaccinated by offering businesses a tax incentive, so employees can get paid leave and take time off to get their shots.

One day after former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was convicted of killing George Floyd, the Justice Department has announced a sweeping investigation into Minneapolis police department. The probe will look at the Department's patterns and practices to determine if there is an unconstitutional or unlawful policing there.

Police in Columbus, Ohio have released body cam footage of a fatal police shooting of a black teenager seen on video holding a knife and lunging at two people. Police say the officer fired four shots. The state is now investigating.

Thousands of protesters filled the streets of Moscow to show their support for imprisoned opposition leader Alexei Navalny, whose health is declining while on a hunger strike. A human rights group that monitors political repression says more than 400 people have been arrested in protests that occurred nationwide.
